Sleep Surgery
Your Wellstar ear, nose, and throat (ENT) sleep surgeon specializes in airway surgery. They will design a personalized treatment plan to help your obstructive sleep apnea.
Upper Airway Surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a condition where your airway is blocked during sleep. This can lead to sleep problems. Sleep apnea can negatively affect your overall health.
Wellstar ENT surgeons treat both children and adults with OSA. Some adults benefit from using a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine to help them sleep. When this or other treatments do not work, upper airway surgery may be recommended.
In children, the first-line treatment is surgery. The most common procedure is removal of the tonsils and adenoids.
