Dr. Oswaldo "Oz" A. Henriquez is a board-certified otolaryngologist serving the Wellstar community since 2023. He provides comprehensive ear, nose, and throat care with a focus on the treatment of complex sinus and anterior skull base diseases, as well as the surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid diseases. He also has a clinical interest in adult craniomaxillofacial trauma.
Dr. Henriquez earned his medical degree at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship followed by a 5-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Emory University. Dr. Henriquez was subsequently selected for a highly competitive one-year fellowship in Rhinology and Sinus/Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery under the mentorship of Rodney J. Schlosser, M.D., and Zachary M. Soler, M.D. at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Before joining Wellstar, Dr. Henriquez served for a decade as faculty at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Emory School of Medicine, where he achieved the rank of Associate Professor and held the positions of Co-Director of the Skull Base Surgery Center and Associate Chief of the Ear, Nose & Throat Division at Grady Hospital. During his tenure at Emory, he received numerous awards and distinctions, including the William J. Grist, MD Teaching Award for Excellence in Resident Teaching and Emory’s School of Medicine Hidden Gem Award. He currently holds an appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor for the Department of Otolaryngology at Emory University.
Dr. Henriquez is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker on topics related to sinus disease, nasal polyps, CSF leaks, sinus/skull base surgery, and craniomaxillofacial trauma. His research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed scientific journals.
In addition to his clinical practice at Wellstar, Dr. Henriquez is an active member of the otolaryngology community, both locally and nationally. He previously served as the president of the Metro Atlanta Educational Society of Otolaryngology and currently holds the position of Secretary of the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology, where he will assume the role of President for the 2026-2027 term. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, where he was honored with the “Honor Award” for his continuous engagement over the years.
Dr. Henriquez is married with three children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is an avid Atlanta United and Real Madrid soccer fan, and he also enjoys cooking and playing golf.
