About Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia
Located in downtown Augusta, Wellstar Children’s Hospital of Georgia opened its current facility in 1999. It is the second largest children’s hospital in Georgia, offering world-class care to the youngest patients.
Our pediatric specialists are dedicated to the health and wellness of newborns, infants, children, adolescents, teens and young adults, and our facility is designed specifically for children, with playrooms, toys, games and a library that provides parents and siblings with the latest information on diseases and treatments.
Our specially trained, compassionate team members are there for you and your child, providing both preventative care and breakthrough treatments for the most complex pediatric conditions. Wellstar Children’s is home to a 24/7 Pediatric Emergency Room, a dedicated Level II Trauma Center, a Level IV NICU and the only Level I PICU outside of Atlanta.
We are focused on advanced diagnostics, expert clinical treatment, recovery, rehabilitation and long-term disease management for all childhood illnesses and conditions. Taking care of children is all we do, and every aspect of care at Wellstar Children’s is specific to children and their unique healthcare needs.
Dedicated Care for our Youngest Patients
At Wellstar Children’s, we are dedicated to family-centered care. We know that when barriers are removed and a strong collaboration between healthcare professionals, patients and families is in place, outcomes are improved. We treat your child like our own and take responsibility for their care personally.
We also have designated pediatric evaluation team services if you, as a parent, ever feel that a subtle change in your child’s behavior while in the hospital is a cause for concern.
Collaboration Across Pediatric Specialties
Wellstar Children’s provides care for every clinical pediatric specialty. Our team also has access to all of the resources of our exclusive academic partner, Medical College of Georgia. We practice a multidisciplinary team approach across all areas of clinical care, with robust research and clinical trials to continue to develop advanced and more effective treatments.
Thanks to our commitment to comprehensive care, our partnership with an academic research institution and our collaborative approach to healthcare, we are able to care for not only routine childhood issues, but also complex and rare pediatric conditions. When you come to Wellstar Children’s for your child’s care, an entire team of experts is dedicated to their health, well-being, optimum growth and development.
