At Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center, our adult rehabilitation and therapy team offers inpatient acute care that is tailored to each patient and informed by the latest research. We also provide outpatient rehabilitation services at Wellstar MCG Health Physical Therapy.

Specialized services

Adult rehabilitation at Wellstar MCG Health also provides specialized services to patients for:

Augmentative and alternative communication devices: We work with patients who need computer devices to supplement or replace speaking.
Mechanical diagnosis and therapy: We offer a comprehensive assessment and treatment method that identifies the best movement patterns to decrease mechanical pain.
Modified barium swallow studies: We take an X-ray of a patient swallowing to view muscle mechanisms that may not be working. Recommendations are made for appropriate techniques, exercises or diet changes to improve swallowing.
Return-to-sport testing: We conduct data-driven strength and agility testing to determine the readiness and confidence of a patient to be able to return to their sport.
Wheelchair assessments: We offer evaluations to patients requiring assistive mobility equipment. Our physical therapists work with wheelchair vendors to ensure optimal fitting for comfort, providing patients with safer mobility to function in their home environment.
