About our PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency
Program Purpose
The PGY2 Infectious Diseases (ID) Residency at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center (WMCG) is a 12-month residency designed to provide the knowledge and tools necessary to be an expert in ID pharmacotherapy. Program graduates will be prepared for advanced patient care, academia, or other specialized positions in ID, and qualified for ID specialist board certification examination. The resident’s practice site is the academic medical center affiliated with Medical College of Georgia on the campus of Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia, and consists of an adult hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, the Georgia Cancer Center, and numerous ambulatory care clinics.Overview
The residency provides a broad range of learning experiences that are focused around both inpatient and outpatient direct patient care. The program can be customized to fit resident interests, but has core learning experiences for inpatient general ID consults, BMT/solid organ transplant ID consult service, microbiology, ambulatory ID, HIV management, and pediatric ID. Outside of direct patient care, graduates will have multiple opportunities for research and publication. Graduates of this program will leave prepared for advanced patient care, academia, or other specialized positions in ID, along with qualification for board certification examination.Learn More About Us

Compensation & Benefits
Residents enjoy a competitive stipend and generous benefits package including accrual of twenty-four days paid-time-off (PTO) as well as professional leave days for meeting attendance, individualized subsidized insurance starting day 1, free parking, matching contributions to a 403-b retirement plan, and a variety of work-life and wellness benefits. The program pays resident travel expenses and registration fees to attend the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and the Southeastern Residency Conference.Application Process
Applications are submitted electronically through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS). Deadline for receipt of applications is January 2; however, early application is encouraged. On-site interviews are offered to a limited number of applicants based on review of the completed application in PhORCAS. Applicants must possess a Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy, have completed or be enrolled in an ASHP-accredited PGY1 program, and must be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Georgia. Application material Includes:- Standardized application through PhORCAS (including letter of intent, CV, etc.)
- At least 3 professional references through PhORCAS
- Transcripts (only pharmacy school-related coursework must be submitted)

Phone: (706) 721-7397 Josh Eudy is a board certified infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship specialist at Wellstar MCG. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Coastal Carolina University and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the South Carolina College of Pharmacy. Josh completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency, and a leadership certificate at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland, OH.
In 2020, Josh joined the pharmacy team at Wellstar MCG and currently serves as a clinical pharmacy specialist, IRB member, Antimicrobial Subcommittee Co-Chair, and ID residency program director. He has professional interests in teaching, research, gram-negative resistance, and antimicrobial stewardship. Josh currently is a member of GSHP and the Georgia Department of Health Antimicrobial Stewardship Subcommittee.

Phone: (706) 721-4150 Daniel is a board-certified infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship specialist at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. He received his PharmD from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in 2018. He completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Emory University Hospital-Midtown and his PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at Emory University Hospital/Emory University Hospital-Midtown. During the course of residency training, he also obtained a teaching certificate from Mercer University College of Pharmacy.
His clinical and research areas of interest include mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance, treatment of infections in immunocompromised hosts, and advancing collaboration between pharmacists and clinical microbiologists to aid in diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship. In 2022, he was recognized by the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy as Preceptor of the Year. Daniel is a member of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) and Southeastern Research Group Endeavor (SERGE-45). He also serves as a member of the Augusta University biomedical Institutional Review Board (IRB-A).
