This PGY-2 residency provides the resident with advanced clinical training in critical care pharmacotherapy, as well as numerous opportunities for research, teaching, and scholarship.Overview
Upon completion of the residency, the pharmacist will be a competent clinical pharmacy practitioner in critical care that engages in multidisciplinary collaboration, demonstrates advanced critical thinking skills, and is able to design and implement complex medication recommendations in this fast-paced environment. PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program Director
Critical Care Pharmacist / Medicine Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
[email protected] Christy Forehand is a Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist for the Medical ICU (MICU), the PGY2 Critical Care Residency Program Director, and a preceptor for the University of Georgia (UGA) College of Pharmacy. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia College and State University and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the UGA College of Pharmacy. Christy completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency, PGY2 critical care pharmacy residency, and teaching certificate programs at the Medical College of Georgia and UGA College of Pharmacy. She is a Board-Certified Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist (BCCCP) and currently serves on the Critical Care Pharmacy Specialty Council for the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Christy is an active member of the Georgia Society of Health System Pharmacists (GSHP), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), where she was selected as the recipient of the 2021 Critical Care PRN (Practice & Research Network) Clinical Practitioner Award, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). She has held leadership positions in these organizations. In October 2021, Christy was selected at the health system level as recipient of the EAC Hospital Quality Award. This award recognizes and rewards an individual employee who makes a significant impact in the care we provide to our patients and their families by consistently promoting a culture of quality. Christy has not only presented her own research but has precepted resident research projects at SCCM’s Annual Congress several times and was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Critical Care Medicine in February 2022. Christy’s professional and scholarly interests include medication safety in the ICU, critical care pharmacy practice advancement, electrolyte abnormalities, infectious diseases, and post-graduate critical care pharmacy residency training.

Critical Care Pharmacist – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
[email protected] Kelli Henry is from Knoxville, Tennessee, and earned her Pharm.D. and Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 2019. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy and PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residencies at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center and the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in 2020 and 2021, respectively and was Chief Pharmacy Resident 2020-2021. Kelli currently serves as a Critical Care Pharmacist in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and is the PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program Coordinator. She serves as a preceptor for students at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and for both PGY1 Pharmacy and PGY2 Pediatrics and PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy residents. She has multiple recent publications, including both her PGY1 and PGY2 research among other projects. She is an active member of SCCM, ACCP and GSHP. She enjoys working on quality improvement projects and her research interests include pain, agitation, and delirium as well as infectious disease and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
