Advanced radiation therapy

Wellstar Paulding Radiation Oncology is proud to offer patients world-class care, close to home. Our patients have access to advanced techniques and technology in radiation therapy treatment such as Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). IMRT allows the radiation oncologist to precisely control the intensity of the radiation that different parts of a tumor receive. Our radiation oncologists use advanced imaging capabilities such as Image Guided Radiation Therapist (IGRT) that allows verification of the patient position and tumor position at the time of treatment. Other techniques include high-dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR), volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI). Breast patients who are candidates for APBI treatments complete treatments in five days.
