Wellstar Healthy Start
Serving Butts, Spalding and Troup counties
Healthy Start is a community-based program aimed at eliminating disparities in infant mortality
and perinatal outcomes while promoting behavioral, mental, and women's health. The program supports
mothers by addressing both clinical and community needs through a dedicated care team
that includes case management, nurse navigation, doula support, and patient education.
Healthy Start bridges the gap between
healthcare and community resources to improve outcomes before, during,
and after pregnancy, with the goal of enhancing maternal health and preventing infant deaths
Enhance Mothers' Health
Improve the well-being of mothers who are expecting or have just given birth and their partner
Prevent Infant Death
Invest in communities with infant death rates that are one and a half times the US national average
Eliminate Health Disparities
Reduce racial and ethnic differences in rates of negative infant and maternal health outcomes
