Fellowship Summary
Duration
This fellowship is a 12-month program, beginning in July 2025.
Timeline
Applications open August 12, 2024, and will remain open until September 6, 2024. First Round Interviews will take place early through mid September 2024. Interviews will not be held on a rolling basis. Second Round Interviews will be on-site and take place at the end of September 2024 through early October 2024. Offers will be extended by late October 2024.Compensation & Benefits

Tracks
Corporate
The Corporate track is about understanding how a healthcare organization operates from the highest level. This fellow will interact directly with the executive leadership team on a weekly basis and will be expected to exude a high level of executive presence as he or she will be a representative of the company at many leadership events- both internal and external. Project work for this fellow will include work in such departments as compliance, human resources, organizational learning, marketing, advertising, and system-level strategy in which the executive sponsor will be a senior vice president or above in title.
Hospital Operations
The Hospital Operations track places the fellow at specific hospital locations to allow them to better understand the day-to-day opportunities and challenges that our facilities face. The fellow will interact directly with the hospital president, executive leadership team, and frontline staff on a more daily basis. This fellow will be part of the executive leadership team and will be expected to learn and participate in process improvement, strategy, and operational projects very early on. The fellow will gain exposure at both a strategic and operational level in areas such as nursing, human resources, volunteer services, environmental services, dietary services, pharmacy, finance, quality, and patient experience. The preceptor of this track is the hospital president of the facility where the fellow is placed.
Service Line
The Service Line Track gives fellows the opportunity to work with the 13 clinical service lines that operate throughout the Wellstar Health System. This unique track allows fellows to see how medical service lines are integrated horizontally though the vertical operations of inpatient and ambulatory services. This fellow will get to work closely with both medical and administrative leaders within the service line departments as well as span the organization from hospitals to health parks to physician practices. Fellows will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of initiatives while also allowing them to focus more intentionally on specific service lines, depending on individual interests and availability.Wellstar Medical Group (WMG)
The WMG track places fellows at the heart of a highly integrative, expansive, and diverse network of medical practices in the Wellstar System. It allows the fellow the opportunity to work alongside senior executives within the Medical Group, and learn about ambulatory operations, business development, strategy, finance, quality, and process improvement. The Medical Group is a part of the clinical integrated network and consists of multispecialty group practices. The fellow will also have the opportunity to work in a medical practice as well as lead a project that will support the strategic direction and goals of the medical group.
Digital Health & Technology
The Wellstar Digital Health and Technology Track allows the fellow to learn from and work alongside information technology senior leadership on various initiatives within the department which make Wellstar a more digitally driven and innovative health system. The Digital Health and Technology fellow will have the opportunity to learn and directly contribute to that success depending on interest and availability. The various areas within digital health include clinical applications, digital strategies and innovation, enterprise technology and operations, service desk support, information security, data & analytics, revenue cycle applications, clinical informatics, business intelligence, and more. Due to the nature of the work, a strong background in health informatics is required for this track.Meet our Fellows

Candidates must have a Master of Health Administration or Master of Science in Health Administration. Candidates with a master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) are preferred; applications from non-CAHME programs are accepted for review.
