William McCall, MD

Dr. McCall is professor and case distinguished chair of the department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at Augusta University. He comes to AU from Wake Forest University School of Medicine after having served as professor and chair of the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine. He completed his medical degree and post-graduate psychiatric training at Duke University and received his master’s in epidemiology from Wake Forest. He is board certified in general psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry and sleep disorders medicine. His research—which is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health—focuses on depression, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), quality of life and insomnia. Dr. McCall has received several prestigious awards for his work and is editor of the Journal of ECT, past president of the Association for Convulsive Therapy and a prior director of the board of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
