About Stephen Cox, DO
Dr. Cox's educational background includes undergraduate and graduate degrees in Physics from The University of Georgia, where he also participated in the thriving Athens music scene. He earned a doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from PCOM Georgia - the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine branch campus at Suwannee, GA. Finally, he completed three years at Atlanta Medical Center's Family Medicine Residency Program.
Professionally, Dr. Cox maintains membership with the American Academy of Family Physicians, which has been his primary source of continuing medical education since graduating from residency.

I spent 3x as much time waiting today as I did receiving care, but the Doctor was fantastic once he finally made it to my room. I unfortunately spent the same 3x as much time waiting for my blood to be drawn for lab testing...

I have an excellent doctor That's a universal confidently so lucky To have doctor cox He always have the answers by any chance if he doesn't he search it until he get the answer for you. He's very caring and he listen to you and he does not let you go until he make sure you're happy with the visit which is 10% of the doctors these days

As usual, the admin staff treated everyone poorly. One person on the phone told me to come in, then the front desk person said to re schedule, then the Xray person told me to wait "just 4 minutes" for an xray that took 1.5 hours end to end for a 2 minute procedure. Total I spent over 3 hours there after being told "no wait" by multiple people. It's one thing when someone tells you the truth about how horribly long everything can take - at least I can plan my work day around that. It's another when they all lie to you about what's going to happen. Dr. Cox is incredibly nice and a good doctor. I'm sad that I won't ever come back to see him given how poor Wellstar is managed. I assume it was bought by some PE firm or something.

Dr. Cox is an excellent doctor who provides special attention. The only problem is the attention of the receptionists outside, as they are not friendly. There is always a problem where they then cancel without authorization. For a long time my family has been going there, and there is always friction. And their attitude leaves much to be desired compared to the quality of attention that Dr. Cox gives. For the receptionists outside, 1 star and zero recommendation.
