About Osagie Okundaye, MD
Dr. Okundaye is board-certified in cardiovascular disease. He earned his medical degree and completed his internship at the University of Lagos in Nigeria. He completed his residency and a cardiology fellowship at Columbia University, Harlem Hospital along with a cardiology fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Hahnemann University School of Medicine.
Dr. Okundaye’s special interests include cardiac imaging and coronary angiography.
He joined Wellstar Medical Group, Cardiovascular Medicine in November 2009 and is currently on staff at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Dr. Okundaye is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.

Hi, I really appreciated the doctor being concerned about my blood pressure and it's been low for a very long time and nobody has really, you know, they just kind of took it as I have low blood pressure, which is what I have done myself, but he wanted to take my blood pressure three different ways, one laying down, one sitting up, and one standing up. And that's how he was able to determine that medication would be the next step. So I'm very appreciative of that. He also has me keeping a diary for the next six weeks or so until I see him again three times a day, which I'm doing. And nobody has ever asked me to do that either. So it just gave me comfort that he really is trying to get to the bottom of the problem.

I was frustrated with not being able to get ahold of someone on the phone a few minutes prior to my appointment so I could get help locating the office. When I finally found it and came upstairs and saw the receptionist sitting around just talking it angered me. I was also told I needed to arrive 15 minutes to complete paperwork to then get there and have nothing to complete was also quite frustrating.

I'm a career pharmacy technician that decided to return to school to become a physician myself. I've always been very particular about my personal physicians because of my complex medical history. Dr. Okundaye was recommended to me by SEVERAL of my pharmacy patients and they couldn't have recommended a better doctor. He spends ample time and listens very closely during the visit. I never feel rushed and he always makes sure to answer all of my questions. 10/10!
