About Nilay Patel, MD
Dr. Patel received his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine. He subsequently completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America.

The only disappointment I had was I was made aware less than 24 hrs my referral had expired. Unfortunately I was leaving out of the country and need my knee injection. I proceeded with the appointment with hopes of my insurance company covering the service

Very very disappointed. My medical doctor referred me to The orthopedic surgeon. This is what my appointment look like I Went in Check-in and gave my $40 coPayment. I was then taken back to the room and the doctor came in. The doctor showed me the x rays that I already had known about, Then dr said he would have to refer me to a Surgeon, nobody in this office does surgery. So why did I go there. I went There to set up a surgery. Now then I will have to find another surgeon since there wasn't one here, I will have to give him A co pay, Now it's a eighty dollar total payout Before I even get to the surgery Why does that office say that It's Orthopedic surgery when no one can do the surgery? I was totally taken. Very disappointed with that office And no I won't refer anyone there

Most of all he didn't make my husband and I feel rushed but took the time to explain things, answered our questions and went over my x-rays with us.He is the doctor I will trust when it's time for my shoulder replacement.
