As a Wellstar Kennestone physician, I have taken my children to various Wellstar urgent cares and non Wellstar urgent cares based on proximity to daycare or home. I was just at the church st urgent care for my daughter and had a great experience with both the facility and provider. Here, the wait times were very long for an appointment, but I understand probably due to short staffing as this is a new facility. The front desk specialist was really kind in how he talked to us. He seemed to be dealing with another patient that had a challenging situation. During this time, myself and 3 other patients presented to the. He seemed very patient as I heard him repeating himself numerous times but he never raised his voice, expressed frustration and still made a point to greet everyone that came in, check them in and inform them of the longer wait times. After being placed in a room and doing the initial intake with the RN, it was about 30 minute before the provider came in. Dr. Simpson was overall great but unnecessarily condescending. He mentioned a viral swab and when I stated how I didn't ask for one because it wouldn't change management with my child, retorted about the flu, which still wouldn't change management in my afebrile child with symptoms of one fever, ear pain and a runny nose. Off putting, but I'm hoping he was just trying to be thorough. At the end of the day, he diagnosed my child and gave the correct weight based dose of antibiotics, which is more than I can say for the non Wellstar urgent care centers I have visited in past. With the wait times, I'd probably just go to a different Wellstar urgent care.

Always a great experience at WellStar. I bring my children there often. They're always very knowledgeable, always very concerning, concerned about my kids and our well-being. I go there as well. My wife goes there as well. All family goes there. Always a great experience. Always, you know, never good to have to go to the doctor for anything, but if I had to, you know, that's an awesome place to go. I love the staff there and I always feel confident that, you know, we'll get better and that they're recommending the right things for us to do in order to get better faster.
