Dr. Uppalapati came to the United States from her native India in July 2000 to pursue her medical education. Upon completing her Fellowship in 2006 at Georgetown University Hospital, Dr. Uppalapati joined the cancer care team of Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers.
She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Cartersville Medical Center’s Cancer Committee. She also is actively involved in cancer research and clinical trials to find a cancer cure and provide her patients with the most advanced cancer treatment available in Georgia.

It was my first time seeing Dr. Uppalapati, and she is great. She knew most of my history. She answered all my questions with no frustration. She explained it in a manner that I understood this time. She also gave me different routes we can take if this doesn't work.. She gave me future advice that I can actually take. Now I wasn't too happy that I had to wait 2 hours before I was even able to see, her but the overall experience once she got in the room made me feel very confident that I'm in the right direction to better my health.

I was pleased with the provider and staff. However I waited at least 40 minutes past my appointment time before being called back to the exam room for just the preliminaries. The provider was delayed about 70 minutes past my original appointment time. If patients are expected to be on time then providers should also be on time. It should not be one-sided.

I do think as a healthcare system you all need to become cognizant of the real problem of over exposure with routine CT monitoring for maintenance follow up. Too much radiation exposure is still dangerous. I will get a second opinion about this request from outside WellStar.

I don't want to watch someone else's blood draw and had to continually do my best to look away. I don't really like other people looking at me either. It would be nice if there were privacy curtains or dividers.
