About Madhurima Uppalapati, MD
Dr. Uppalapati came to the United States from her native India in July 2000 to pursue her medical education. Upon completing her Fellowship in 2006 at Georgetown University Hospital, Dr. Uppalapati joined the cancer care team of Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers.
She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Cartersville Medical Center’s Cancer Committee. She also is actively involved in cancer research and clinical trials to find a cancer cure and provide her patients with the most advanced cancer treatment available in Georgia.

I asked about MRIs vs CTs for routine monitoring and was relayed an answer of no. I do think as a healthcare system you all need to become cognizant of the real problem of over exposure with routine CT monitoring for maintenance follow up. Too much radiation exposure is still dangerous. I will get a second opinion about this request from outside WellStar.

Hate the new lab setup. My chair was positioned so that there was another patient sitting perpendicular right in front of me. I don't want to watch someone else's blood draw and had to continually do my best to look away. I don't really like other people looking at me either. It would be nice if there were privacy curtains or dividers.

Simone was in the front office greeting patients. She was very nice and informative. Tracy, I think that was her name, my nurse was so patient and kind. She explained a lot of things to me and I felt very at ease. In fact, the whole office team was so nice! My Dr U Explained things to me and was very knowledgeable about my health. I would definitely recommend this practice to my friends and family.

This was my second follow up visit and for the second time, my wait time was excessive. My appointment was for 9am and I was not seen by the dr until 10:30am. No explanation or apology was given for the delay. She was rushed and I had to request we review my labs, which she did not offer. I felt my time was disrespected and really not respected as a patient either. I am currently looking for a new provider

This is the 2nd time I've seen this Dr and both times chose the earliest time slot available in order to hopefully get in and out as quickly as possible so I didn't miss much time from work. Both times the dr was more than one hour late and this recent visit was almost two hours late. When I was waiting I asked the nurse if this was normal and she stated the Dr doesn't usually get there until 10. The appointment I had scheduled was at 9:15. When the Dr did arrive she didn't even apologize. Also when she was explaining the percentages of recurrence probability, I wasn't understanding and still don't. I think it is extremely inconsiderate for her to be late purposefully, causing me to lose EVEN MORE HOURS of work time knowing the financial burden cancer patients are already experiencing as well as the amount of time we already have to take from work for treatments. I am looking for a new oncologist currently. Please forward this message to the Dr, or contact me back with a direct email. She needs to know how inconsiderate she is being to patients.
