John McManus, MD

Col. (Ret.) McManus served in the U.S. Army as a medical corps officer and decorated combat veteran. He completed his medical training at Medical College of Georgia, emergency medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center and University of Washington, and EMS fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University. He earned his MBA from Brenau University and has his master’s in clinical research. Dr. McManus was the chief medical officer of the last combat support hospital (47th CSH) in Baghdad, Iraq, and founded and served as program director for the Army's first emergency medicine subspecialty fellowship at the San Antonio Military Medical Center and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He has received the Legion of Merit, the National Emergency Medicine Faculty Teaching Award and been named outstanding Army Medicine lieutenant colonel of the year by the Army Surgeon General.
