About Jason Andersen, MD
Dr. Andersen grew up in Alpharetta, GA and received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, where he was a four-year starter on the Division I men’s varsity soccer team. He then obtained his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Andersen went on to complete his orthopedic residency training at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He then completed an additional fellowship year of surgical training specializing in orthopedic sports medicine at OrthoCarolina.
Dr. Andersen focuses on the prevention and treatment of orthopedic conditions affecting patients of all ages. He performs many surgeries arthroscopically, in a minimally invasive fashion, which helps facilitate faster recovery and reduces pain for his patients. Dr. Andersen understands that each patient’s needs are different, and he aims to provide personalized and compassionate care to each and every patient he treats.
During his career, Dr. Andersen has been fortunate to serve as assistant team physician to various sports organizations, including Carolina Panthers (NFL), Charlotte Knights (Triple A White Sox affiliate), UNC Charlotte, Davidson College, and Georgia Highlands College. He has also served as head team physician for several high schools in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Georgia Orthopaedic Society and Southern Orthopaedic Association.

Only problem I had with my visit was that I guess there was some IT issues. I had some MRI on a CD, and they had to contact the IT department, I think, to get it loaded successfully. So I ended up waiting about 45 minutes before seeing the doctor. So that was a little disappointing, not the end of the world. But I understand, you know, if there's IT issues, there's IT issues. It's not their fault. But just the length of the appointment was the only disappointment.

Yes. Dr. Andersen is very good doctor. He performed surgery. Well, he, informed me of the pain. And we went to go see him at the follow-up. He gave us all the information we needed. And I really appreciate the time that he took with me to, to ensure that I was well informed of the healing process.

Went to Dr. Andersen before for my rotator cuff surgery and was happy with all he did, so it made sense to go back to him for pain in left shoulder blade. Happy with him.

I was impressed by Dr. Andersen's approach and demeanor. He listened carefully had in-depth discussion and I left with the information I needed to move forward. Apparently, the practice protocol is to get x-rays before the patient is seen by the physician. I objected and asked to see the physician first which seemed to confound the medical assistant. She was polite, and there was no problem and when Dr. Andersen came in, he had no problem with my decision and X-rays were not needed. I realize getting the x-rays first probably streamlines your workflow. But it exposes patients to potentially unnecessary radiation and expense.

I came for the doctor for two reasons. Yes one is. To complain that after I had a setback because of my doing now I'll find out three years later that there's nothing that can be done about it because it's too late, he was right about the MRI. I looked that up later that would not have helped the time. I'm sorry for my angry demeanor and I did think that he did a great job on both my shoulders because I already had them both really good. Until ..I think where he didn't do his job was on the follow up after my fault , I know my body it was torn I told him. If he moved away, he should've told me to go to another doctor to follow up on it. He said it would "probably be fine." hopefully this doctor next time someone has a setback in my eyes, which who the heck am I he should do a better job and why in the heck would I ever go to this guy again?

I came for the doctor for two reasons. Yes one is. Went to Dr. Andersen before for my rotator cuff surgery and was happy with all he did, so it made sense to go back to him for pain in left shoulder blade. Happy with him.

Yes. Dr. Andersen is very good doctor. He performed surgery. Well, he, informed me of the pain. And we went to go see him at the follow-up. He gave us all the information we needed. And I really appreciate the time that he took with me to, to ensure that I was well informed of the healing process.

Only problem I had with my visit was that I guess there was some IT issues. I had some MRI on a CD, and they had to contact the IT department, I think, to get it loaded successfully. So I ended up waiting about 45 minutes before seeing the doctor. So that was a little disappointing, not the end of the world. But I understand, you know, if there's IT issues, there's IT issues. It's not their fault. But just the length of the appointment was the only disappointment.
