About Edward Vollrath, MD
Dr. Vollrath received his undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry from Southern Methodist University before earning his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. His internship and residency were completed at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
Dr. Vollrath has been in practice since 1995 and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Previously, he served as president of medical staff at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. Dr. Vollrath was recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)’s Bridges to Excellence program for his quality diabetes care and management.

Staff is always friendly and greeting. Lab workers are usually polite and friendly. However, the one I had today was a little standoffish. She greeted me , showed me to the chair and was polite with her instructions as well as wished me a nice rest of the day but she had no feelings in her words. They sounded like they were just something she was supposed to say

allow people to sign in ahead of time for bloodwork. Waiting after seeing the Dr., then coming to sign up for bloodwork adds about 45 to 60 minutes after the Doctors visit. Not desirable.

The only concern , was lab employee's. I signed my name on sheet it get blood taken. Sat down for 10 minutes. Peeked my head into the door to ask do I have wait or just come back. Waited another five minutes before being called back. I just think there needs to be better system for check-in. Like an electronic kiosk to check in. In order to hold staff accountable about how long they have to wait to been seen by lab. As a patient when I peeked my head in I could see the tech on her personal device.
