About Deborah Karp, MD
Having completed a 3-year fellowship in Urogynecology at Cleveland Clinic in Florida, Dr. Karp has expertise in caring for women with pelvic floor problems including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and bowel incontinence, postpartum pelvic issues, menopausal problems, voiding difficulties, defecatory and sexual dysfunction, and vaginal fistula to the surrounding pelvic organs. She has a full set of complementary skills to offer a range of non-surgical and minimally invasive surgical options to patients.
She provides personalized, compassionate, and comprehensive care to patients with an emphasis on patient education and understanding pelvic health as it relates to childbirth and aging. She has a particular interest in childbirth related pelvic floor problems and has previously developed and overseen a Pelvic Health after Pregnancy Program in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been instrumental in developing surgical programs focused on surgical training and education in Gynecologic Robotic surgery.
Dr. Karp graduated from Dartmouth College cum laude and then earned her medical degree at The University of Chicago where she also did her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training. She then underwent a 3-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery/ Urogynecology at Cleveland Clinic in Florida.
She has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications and has performed basic science and clinical research at several prestigious universities as well as the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She is also the recipient of multiple awards for teaching and research including Excellence in Teaching Gynecologic Surgery at Emory University, and Best Urogynecologic Surgical Video and the Kurt Semm Award for Excellence in Laparoscopy from the Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), and Best Abstract for Clinical Research in Urogynecology from the International Urogynecology Association (IUGA). She has had a multitude of leadership positions within IUGA focusing on the dissemination of awareness and education in pelvic floor problems in women internationally. She has received numerous patient satisfaction awards from Press-Ganey and American Registry, Vitals.
Dr. Karp has a passion for travel and service. She has traveled to Guatemala on an annual basis to provide gynecologic surgical care to women in need, and has provided gynecologic teaching, medical, and surgical care to women all over Africa including in Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Mozambique.

Appointment was at 10am so I arrived at 9:45 and I was not seen until 11am Staff made no mention of my long wait time An acknowledgment that they were running late would have been appreciated When I got in to see Dr Karp I found her to be very thorough and was impressed by her

Dr. Karp was very awkward with her patients. My husband was in the room. I don't know if that was the reason, but she was very awkward and just gave off a weird vibe. I think she's a great doctor. I don't know if she's new to the practice, considering she is also the only doctor, but she just needs to work on her confidence, I think.

The office staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The nurses and Dr. Karp were very informative. I would trust giving any of my friends and family the information that I got and the treatment that I got. I am very, very satisfied.

The wait time was very, very long. I was there at 9:30 for my 9:45 appointment. I was not seen by Doctor Karp until 11:20 a.m. I finally was able to leave at 12:20. I think she said something about being double booked today. I do like the facts that she is very thorough, caring and a good listener.

Due to my insurance does not cover well for WS physicians. I had to pay upfront BEFORE seeing the MD. Also, it is expected to pay upfront as following procedures apply. People don't have an exorbent amount of $ to pay upfront with no payment plan offered. That's why I stayed with where I work in another healthcare facility.

About 5 minutes after she was in the room she was called out to help the dr. I waited about 15 minutes before Dr. Karp came in the room. She was very nice and listened to my concerns

The entire staff from the front desk to Dr. Karp were very friendly. I had to wait a while because I was late, but they still saw me and I really appreciate that. And the recommendations were great after being seen and everything she did and said were very professional, very caring, and very knowledgeable and I really appreciate it very much. Dr Karp is extremely knowledgeable. Professional, Courteous and caring about her patients and the medical issues. She explains everything professionally yet in understandable language. She takes the time to listen to your symptoms and your concerns. She explains all possible procedures, the pros and cons of each possible procedure and medication. Dr Karp is an outstanding physician!

The doctor was several HOURS behind schedule and (as a new patient), I was told by staff that I should "get used to it" because she's a surgeon! I have seen specialists & surgeons who managed their offices efficiently and won't be returning to this one.

Dr. Karp is the best. She is an awesome doctor, and I attribute my successful surgery to her. I would not hesitate to see her again if needed. She is thorough and caring. The entire office staff is the same. The nurses are great!!! Love them all.

You need to improve on scheduling and the time that it takes for a patient to make their appointment. When a patient arrives promptly, they're sometimes there two hours after their appointment.

The wait time was very, very long. I was there at 9:30 for my 9:45 appointment. I was not seen by Doctor Karp until 11:20 a.m. I finally was able to leave at 12:20. I think she said something about being double booked today. I do like the facts that she is very thorough, caring and a good listener.

I waited an hour and a half to see Dr. Karp. She advised me of my issue and prescribed therapy, but she was cold and I left not feeling like she was listening to me.

Dr. Karp was very awkward with her patients. My husband was in the room. I don't know if that was the reason, but she was very awkward and just gave off a weird vibe. I think she's a great doctor. I don't know if she's new to the practice, considering she is also the only doctor, but she just needs to work on her confidence, I think.
