Danny Yakoub, MD

Dr. Yakoub earned his medical degree at Cairo University, then obtained his doctoral degree at Imperial College London. He completed his surgical residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York followed by his fellowship training in complex general surgical oncology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Yakoub initially practiced as an assistant professor at the University of Miami, where he investigated metabolic reprogramming of pancreatic cancer cells to improve chemotherapy responsiveness, before becoming associate professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn., then at the Mayo Clinic Health System. Dr. Yakoub served as a panel member at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. His research interests include improving clinical outcomes in upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pancreatic cancer patients.
