About Adam Lourie, MD
Dr. Lourie, a board-certified invasive cardiologist, was born and raised in Columbia, SC. He received his undergraduate and medical degree from Emory University. After training in internal medicine at Emory, he completed his cardiology fellowship at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is fully trained in cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and permanent pacemaker implantation.
Dr. Lourie is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of several medical societies.
Dr. Lourie has been in private practice in Cobb and Douglas counties since 1998. He is a past chief of staff of Wellstar Cobb Hospital and past chairman of the Department of Medicine from 2002-2008. He also is the chief of the cardiology section and sits on the Medical Executive Committee at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He is currently on staff at Wellstar Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone and Paulding hospitals.
When not enjoying the practice of medicine, Dr. Lourie finds great pleasure in spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys fitness/sports, reading, writing and gardening. On the rare occasion that time permits, he enjoys playing a round of golf.

Best Cardiologist I have ever known or had. Goes over ever issue I have mentioned to him that concerns me regarding my heart, I always leave feeling Safe in Dr Louries hands! I can not Thank him enough! I am so happy he is my Cardiologist,I could never find another one like him. He takes the time to explain everything so I can understand! I Pray I will never have to find another one like him!

Dr Lourie is definitely the doctor to see if you have a bad heart. I had to be shocked 4 times to get my heart back into rhythm. Dr Lourie did the fourth try and got it. Thank you Dr Lourie.

This was the first Dr in a long time that actually listened to me! He actually thought about what I said, and asked questions to clarify and then based a plan for going forward with my care. He was also very personable. It was the most refreshing visit with a Dr that I've had in decades (although Mary Long NP, while not a Dr, I trust explicitly with my care). I've just moved to the area, and one of my biggest fears is finding good health care. It looks like I've found it!
