- Equipped to serve you with Optune technology, which involves a portable, wearable device which breaks down the DNA in brain tumors for patients with glioblastoma multiforme.
- One of only four programs in Georgia to offer minimally invasive neuroendovascular treatment as an alternative to more invasive thrombectomy methods.
- Pleased to offer artificial intelligence/EEG monitoring, which gives our neurologists around-the-clock EEG readings for patients.
- Proud that our patients can benefit from neurointerventional biplane imaging, which shows our specialists detailed, 3D views of blood vessels in the brain to help them pinpoint clots and customize care in real time.

Assessing over 4,000 patients each year for stroke and nationally recognized with Beacon Awards for Excellence by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, our renowned neurocritical care physicians, neurologists and nurses are one of only a small number of teams in Georgia who hold this distinction. Receiving a diagnosis of a brain or spine tumor affects everyone differently. At Wellstar, we understand your concern and will be by your side with the expert care, support and resources you need for every step of the journey. Treating over 200 brain tumor patients a year, we know the importance of an early diagnosis followed by prompt decisions about treatment plans. That’s why the team at the Wellstar Brain & Spine Tumor STAT Clinic works with patients with nervous system tumors to get their treatment plans in place quickly. Known for our innovative Specialty Teams & Treatments (STAT) Clinic model, which is different from traditional diagnosis and care for brain and spine tumors, we work hard to collaborate across specialties to ensure the most urgent, patient-centric diagnosis and treatment experience. While patients and their families typically spend weeks making appointments and visiting different specialists across town — only to be left alone to navigate many different recommendations and choose a course of treatment — patients with brain and spine tumors can be evaluated by three board-certified specialists and only need one set of imaging and tests. Our tight-knit team of highly skilled specialists, which includes a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and neurosurgeon, collaborate and offer patients a unified treatment plan recommendation. During treatment, having the right people at your side can make what feels overwhelming manageable. Wellstar’s nurse navigators foster communication between patients and their team of specialists. From emotional support to finding the follow-up care you need, they’ll be at your side at every step and can connect you to the medical professionals you need, including registered dietitians, counselors and social workers. We also partner closely with select local and national partners to give patients access to the latest clinical trials. This includes our role as the first health care system in Georgia to become a member of the Mayo Care Network. Their experts are available for online consultations on complex cases at no additional cost to patients.Neuroradiology & Advanced Imaging
