Ready for your emergency
Emergencies take many forms, and time is often the most important factor in helping to determine a good healthcare outcome for you. Whether you arrive by car, ambulance or helicopter, you will find us ready to address conditions from heart attack and stroke to trauma from falls, cuts, burns or other causes, to behavioral health needs when people experience acute mental distress. Whatever your emergency, we have a treatment plan. When you come to our Emergency Department — you may know it as the Emergency Room — you’ll meet a host of expert medical professionals who’ll guide you through your visit. They’re here not only to help you get better, but also to calm your fears and concerns about the experience. For our pediatric patients, parents may be interested to know that at our Pediatric Emergency Department — with its own entrance — we have kid-sized casts, mini-crutches and smaller blood pressure cuffs that are more comfortable for their arms. Our pediatric physicians and nurses are specifically trained to address the special needs of our youngest patients when they face an emergency health situation.Designed with people in mind
Our Emergency Department is housed in its own 263,000-square-foot building next to the hospital, with separate entrances and treatment spaces for adults and children to better accommodate their individual needs. Care zones give you a space that’s designed to be just right for your age group and the kind of medical service you need. The Emergency Department maintains its own state-of-the-art imaging capabilities, including CAT scan, MRI, and ultrasound, with quick access to the floor. Our processes work for you to get you the care you need quickly, while reducing your waiting time. We’ve thought about the details that help make your trip to the Emergency Department as smooth and stress-free as possible under the circumstances. For instance, if you arrive by car, you can choose valet service or self-parking in our 170-space parking area, accessible from Cherokee Street. You can let us know you are coming by checking in online.Recognized with credentials that count
