Long-Term Acute Care

Wellstar Roosevelt specializes in treating critically ill patients who require continued intensive care and specialized rehabilitation in an acute hospital setting.

Our team of expert clinicians are specially trained to care for patients who have been in an intensive care unit, a critical care unit or who are chronically ill and frequently readmitted to the hospital. On average, our patients stay with us for 25 days, and we have proven success in treating patients with pulmonary disease and respiratory failure—with a vent weaning success rate of 87.5%.

In close partnership with Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jackson Elam, the entire team at Wellstar Roosevelt recognizes and uses the most successful, evidence-based practices. Board-certified physicians make daily rounds, and our highly experienced nursing staff provide 24-hour care to every patient. At Wellstar Roosevelt, an interdisciplinary team is determined for each patient based on their individual needs and may include respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, registered dieticians, clinical pharmacists and case managers.

At Wellstar Roosevelt Rehabilitation Care, our primary goal is to restore the functional abilities and independence of patients with disabling conditions. Our team provides comprehensive therapy, world-class medical care and personalized education in a warm, healing environment to maximize a patient’s functional gains and overall quality of life.

Recover Faster

• Personalized multidisciplinary therapy is scheduled throughout the day, five days a week to improve function and independence. This may include physical, occupational and speech therapy.
• Psychological support is offered, as physical trauma can be an emotional challenge.
• Case managers help plan for patients’ home and outpatient needs.
• 24/7 access to rehabilitation physicians, nurses and specialists.
